Earaheedy Pope
Katherine Waddington, Nannup Western Australia
This is (vet) Dr Sheila Greenwell’s dual registered stallion, who lives with my husband and I on our Waler/heritage horse/Percheron Sporthorse stud in Nannup, south west Western Australia (WA). Pope was rescued from the wild along with a small number of other horses in March 2005, from Earaheedy Station near Wiluna, up north of WA. (A remote station of 130,000km in size.) He stands 15.3hh and will be six years old this year.
The horses on the station, first introduced by a gentleman by the name of Fred Pope around the 1920’s, had been breeding wild since his death in the 1950’s and are Percheron/Arab/Thoroughbred crosses, thought to be one of the oldest lines of part Percherons in WA, with some of them being 16.3hh in height. The rescue of these horses resulted in the formation of the Outback Heritage Horse Association of WA (OHHAWA), now a registered charity with many members, dedicated to the rescue of at risk old bloodline horses in remote rural Western Australia.
This “wild white brumby” is actually a lamb, very gentle natured, with great bone, hardiness, intelligence and feet like iron. Now standing at stud he throws big boned, large, handsome, athletic foals with great endurance and competition potential.

Wow. what an amazing beautiful big boy. Has a very kind eye.
Regards Leureen
